Wednesday 20th May

Hi Everyone,

We are back to our TERM 1 REGULAR TIMETABLE on June 1st!!! YAY!
Please read this newsletter so you understand what is happening and the procedures in place. We have also popped a wee video up on Facebook, which is a great way of showing the younger students what is going on.

Kindest Regards,

Lenore and the 246 team.

Monday 23rd March

Hi Everyone,

Following the updates today from Jacinda Adern, and our upgrade to Alert Level 3, we feel uncomfortable and cannot have any students in the studio this week at all - so no studio classes for you.

We will do an online class for you all this week, before suspending for a (slightly longer) 4 week break.
In term 2, we have amazing things planned and being put together right now, which we will share with you over the next 4 weeks .

So as (a rather weird) finish to term 1, join us at your regular class time right up to (and including Friday exam classes) but NOT at the Studio, but from the comfort of your home!!! See you all behind the screen!!!!

Reminder no Facebook videos for Crew ... yours will all be on MOVITAE.

Kindest Regards,

Lenore and the 246 team.

Sunday 22nd March

Good Afternoon Studio 246 Families,

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE MESSAGE 😘

With heavy hearts we have decided to temporarily suspend class from SATURDAY 28th March.  We feel this is in the best interest of our Students, Families, Staff and Community.

Last classes for Term 1 will be Friday 27th March.
(This means NO ACRO workshop on 5th April)
Private lessons are still available (for now) for those that want them ... just get in touch with us.
For those with preschoolers: Toddler Toes has been suspended immediately.

RECAPPING: All classes running in all locations Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur and Fri (for this week only) then temporarily suspending until term 2.
This week all classes at the Forrest Hill Studios will also go live on our PRIVATE facebook page, so please, if you prefer to stay home; join us online for your last term 1 class!
Saturday classes can all find a similar class during the week to join, watch and dance with, except Musical Theatre kids, who will have a special YouTube video from Chloe on Saturday (we will email you all the link later in the week).

If you are coming into any of the studios, please remember our new rules:
* Parents drop and go, (drop off area in front of building at 246.)
* NO-ONE to come to class who is unwell.
* We will follow all our recent hygiene rules (hand sanitizer, no holding hands, keeping our distance etc etc)

We are only losing one week of term, as we were always finishing on April 4th anyways, so we can easily make that up later in the year. This extra week though, gives us time to set up our online training modules, and get ourselves ready for what may be a new way of doing things in term 2!

Crew kids will receive a separate email.

MOVING FORWARD:

TERM 2 Commences on MONDAY 27th APRIL.

We have plans in place for online learning in term 2 should the need arise.
We will be using MOVITAE, our Private Facebook Page, and ZOOM.
More information on these platforms will be sent out to you in the coming weeks.
They all have their pros and cons, hence why we feel the need to have all three!
We also promise to look after our families, by offering any online classes at a reduced term fee, to help those that will be struggling financially.
Please stay connected by checking emails regularly, joining MOVITAE and our private Facebook page, and reaching out to those that may not be getting these messages.

We aim to keep that dance passion alive and well by any means possible moving forward. Thank you for your overwhelming support and love.

Lenore

P.S: The moment NZ is upgraded to alert level 3 all classes will cease immediately.

Thursday 19th March

Hi Everyone!

Was just waiting on the Ministry of Health announcements today, before emailing you.

UPDATES FOR YOU ALL :

We plan on staying open for the rest of Term 1: if at all possible, and following Government guidelines. (Regular classes finish on 4th April).

Sorry, but there will be no Parent Watching Days during the last week of term. We will try and video and pop content up on MOVITAE for you.

Classes this week (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) Remain as normal ... please try and drop your kids and go, to avoid heavily congested waiting areas. At FORREST HILL we will attempt to have interns waiting outside to help lead your kiddies into class, and back to the cars, much like school drop offs.

Classes from next week: As above - drop offs preferred, with interns at FORREST HILL waiting by the iron gates to help kiddies, out of the car and into the studio, then waiting with them again for pick up.

HOWEVER as of next week, from Monday 23rd all classes will finish 5 minutes earlier to ensure less congestion and traffic in waiting areas.
Please avoid waiting in the "Cave" (kitchen area), if more than 5 people are there. Instead wait QUIETLY in the studio, or outside if weather permits, so bring jackets in case ..... We will monitor this and ensure no areas become too over populated.

The School Holiday Programme has been cancelled and ALL money will be refunded.

Please ensure you are signed up to MOVITAE, as when we do need to go on line,  many on line classes will be held through this avenue, as well as your Dance Studio Pro.

If you decide NOT to attend classes these last 2 weeks, we will attempt to put more class content on MOVITAE so you don't fall too far behind.

Our Teachers have been busy taking online courses to be more aware of Infection Control, as we take your families safety very seriously. You are our family.

If things change in any way, we will take immediate action, so please continue to read newsletters and emails.

Facebook and Instagram are other good ways to communicate, so make sure you "like" our Studio 246 pages.

We are well prepared moving forward and have started stockpiling amazing video content for online learning, which we are excited to share with you, if and when the need arises.

As always we will continue to keep you updated

Kind Regards,

Lenore

Sunday 15th March

Dear Parents,

As news of Covid-19 and it's implications comes to light, I would like to take a moment to keep you informed as to where the Studio stands at this time.
As of now it is business as usual (however with much more stringent hygiene in place.)

Under no circumstances is anyone to visit Studio 246 if ill in any way (parents, grandparents, students). Where possible we appreciate the drop and go scenario.

Student in class will be discouraged from holding hands and close contact.
We will continue to offer hand sanitizer before and after class.

Our interns are busy disinfecting barres and surface areas between classes.
We have already been impacted, with some upcoming competitions and workshops cancelled, and with new restrictions in place daily, we are well aware things can quickly change.

If anything changes drastically in the next 2 weeks, and classes need to be cancelled, we will ensure make up classes are offered at some future stage.

We will wait for further advise before charging anyone for term 2.
If we cannot go ahead as planned we are already looking at classes on line via MOVITAE. and other avenues.

Our number one priority will always be our students and staff, alongside being responsible community members. We will certainly keep you updated on  any changes as they come to light, it is certainly new times we are negotiating here, but we do not want people to lose their passion and fire for dance, so anyway we can ignite that we will.

Stay safe, and wash those hands!

Kind Regards,

Lenore
